Envisioning Your Dream Home

Before you even enter the home, you can appreciate the elegance of the exterior. The gable over the entryway makes anyone feel welcome and the garage doors imitating barn doors gives off a warm, homey feel that no other garage could possibly do. The breezeway is the cherry on top to tie in elegance with warmth. Imagine having flowers planted along the covered porch with a couple of comfortable chairs, or perhaps some potted plants and a welcoming sign. Guests will feel comfortable before they even step a foot inside.

When entering the home, you step into the foyer that looks into the great room with a small hallway on the right that leads to the master suite. The great room boasts vaulted ceilings and a fireplace in the corner with the kitchen and dining area on the left. The kitchen has plenty of counter space and an island looking into the foyer and dining room. This open floor plan is great for entertaining and makes the space feel cohesive. Just imagine having family and friends over and you won’t have to miss out on conversation while you cook or set up the dining table. Guests can be lounging comfortably in the great room as there is no shortage of space. Double doors lead out onto the covered porch from the dining room that makes a perfect spot for grilling or just for enjoying a cup of coffee in the mornings.

The great room has so many possibilities for arrangement and decoration, especially with the fireplace. Imagine those cold winter nights when it seems like your furnace isn’t doing its job. Having a fireplace helps to eliminate that problem while also creating a relaxing, cozy area to sip some hot chocolate and spend quality time with those you care about. Imagine having stockings hung up on the mantle, or other decorations fit for any and every holiday. A fireplace offers more space for decorations while also being functional. It’s a win-win situation no matter how you look at it! Imagine where you could put your Christmas tree, with little limitations on height thanks to the vaulted ceiling.

Off the dining room area there is a hallway that hosts a powder room, three bedrooms, the mudroom, and a full bath. This hallway wraps around the left side of the kitchen so that it can be accessed from either side. Thanks to this hallway, the bedrooms have plenty of privacy without being excluded from the heart of the home. The mudroom has ample space for the washer and dryer and leads to the breezeway that allows access to the spacious three car garage. The breezeway could have benches put in for seating and storage, but even without any decorations the space feels elegant. The mudroom could be the perfect place for you to hang your coats and store your shoes. Breezeways are becoming quite popular in the barndominium scene and they always give a home that small touch of elegance and sophistication.

The three bedrooms can be used for your children, offices, or anything else you might want spare rooms for, such as various hobbies that tend to take up a lot of space. We are seeing a rise of families having their aging relatives live with them, whether that be in their own space in the house or in a detached suite that allows for more privacy. With the amount of bedrooms this plan has and their placement on the opposite side of the house from the master suite, everyone gets their own space.

The garage has plenty of space for three cars, or if you don’t need space for that many cars you can use the extra space for a shop. It’s the perfect place to store all your tools, yard equipment, outdoor hobby supplies, or even just things you don’t want stored in your home. With the breezeway leading into the mudroom, you don’t have to worry about rushing in on rainy days or having to trek through the snow to warm up your car.

The master bedroom is the perfect place to unwind at night. There is plenty of space for a king size bed and there is access to the covered porch from the bedroom. The attached master bathroom has room for a soaking bathtub, a shower, and a water closet for extra privacy. Off the master bathroom is the spacious walk-in closet with windows that allow for natural light as opposed to being dark and gloomy. With all the space this closet provides, you have countless options for setting up your bedroom and closet in whatever way you might want. If you choose to put your dresser in your closet or you find you don’t even need a dresser, you could put a seating area in your bedroom. Imagine waking up, grabbing a cup of coffee, and reading a book before you start your day.

The covered porch on the rear of the home is the perfect spot to relax. Imagine your children playing in the yard while you sit comfortably on the porch, or maybe you’re just enjoying a cool glass of tea on those warm summer days while others splash around in the pool. Maybe you want to soak in the amazing view that surrounds your home, such as mountains or expansive rolling hills or even just a stunning sunset. No matter the time or occasion, a covered porch offers more space for you to enjoy.
